Jesse Cox was born and raised in La Mesa, California, a suburb just outside of San Diego. An avid sports fan, Jesse played football, basketball, and baseball, until the 8th grade when he started playing lacrosse. He attended Helix High School where he was named MVP his junior year, and was nominated the sole captain of the lacrosse team his senior year. Wanting to stay in California Jesse went on to Division 3 Whittier College where he played two years of both lacrosse and rugby, and was named the captain of the undefeated Whittier Rugby team his senior year.
