Varsity, Saturday, Sept. 26

Black Cat 11, Shock 2

Leverage 6, Cobras Blue 4
Game of the night. Cobras played with six players and a goalie. Henry HassenbergRob HendersonCarlie CurtinAidan Hesse and brothers JD Hatch and Andrew Hatch all brought their A game, playing with one substitute the entire game. Dropping back into a zone in front of great goalie play by Michael Doud, the Cobras came away with a 6-4 win.

JV, Saturday, Sept. 26

Cobras 12, Dragons 6
The score was 12-6, but the game was a lot closer. It really was a team effort, as everyone contributed, but goalie Cam Bieler had an MVP performance.
— Brett Tietjen, Cobras

The game could have gone better for us, but the boys played hard. Our goalie was unavailable, so props go to Martin Avila who stepped up and volunteered to stand between the pipes. We did play great defense, but we were just always 2-3 goals behind. Mac MacLean did a great job for us on offense, and Lucas Mann played sick on defense.
— Matt Cannone, Dragons

Leverage 6, Black Cat 2
Santa Monica 14, Shock 1

Trey Pederson, Leverage

U11, Sunday, Sept. 27

Leverage 5, Trident Blue 4
The most exciting game for leverage this week was again another one goal victory by our U11s against a very good Trident team. Our goalie, Trey Pederson, played fantastic in goal, coming up with some huge saves at the end!
— Chris Jewett, Leverage

Dragons 11, Santa Monica 1
Our youngest team got its first win of the season. It was a great team win. The boys played unselfishly and with discipline from the first period until the end of the third. This team doesn’t have a permanent goalie, so we rotate kids every weekend. This time it was Mac Houston in cage, and he had a phenomenal game. Robbie Lennartson scored his first goal, and Axel Greve had a great game, as well.
— Matt Cannone, Dragons

Trident Orange 8, Trident Blue 3

Owen Gaffney, Dragons

U13, Sunday, Sept. 27

Dragons Blue 14, Beach 2
This was a very intense game from start to finish. We managed to stay out of the box, and we played unselfishly, finished well and made the goalie move from pipe to pipe. Luken McGuirefilled in as goalie and had an outstanding game. Owen Gaffney had a great game, with several goals and assists. Joe Tatum also stood out for his overall hard work, his overall play and hustle, and, of course, he had a beautiful goal.
— Matt Cannone, Dragons

Leverage 13, Dragons Green 8
Green is our sixth-grade team, so physically, we don’t match up well against Leverage. They are a bigger and stronger team. But we managed to keep it close, even with just two full lines of five playes. Dante Meloni had a great game on both the offensive and defensive sides. Matteo Silvestri scored several goals, and Austin Sauter had another great game in goal.
— Matt Cannone, Dragons

Cobras Black 15, Santa Monica 2
Another dominating showing the game was never really close. Mason O’Hanlon had seven goals and a highlight BHB assist.
— Brett Tietjen, Cobras
