I just got back from coaching at 3d Nike Blue Chip Camp in Arizona. The the top 8th, 9th and 10th graders in the West region were invited to try out for Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip Camp held in Baltimore ever summer. I nominated boys from LA & OC. This is the top recruiting camp in the country as 95% of boys invited to the Baltimore camp will go on to play D1 Lacrosse. This West region camp was an eye opening experience for our boys, as well as the parents to see what it takes to play College Lacrosse as well as high end High School Lacrosse. I was very pleased with the way our Leverage Lacrosse boys preformed, as they all held their own. I was even more excited to see this box / field hybrid style of Lacrosse being taught at this camp, which gave our boys a leg up coming off of a box lacrosse season. Over the next few years you will begin to see this box / field hybrid system incorporated more and more into the Leverage / Costa practices and games. It truly requires the boys to practice and continue to play together but the results are fantastic.
