The LA Cobras claimed their second consecutive title in the varsity division of the Los Angeles Box Lacrosse League over the weekend, and three other clubs took home championships, as well.

The Cobras beat Black Cat 10-9 for the varsity crown. In the JV division, though, the Santa Monica Dragons scored a 5-2 victory over the Cobras to win the title. Last year, the Cobras won titles in the varsity, JV and U15 divisions.
Leverage Black won the U13 division, beating Dragons Blue 14-12. The Dragons came out fast and determined, Leverage coach Chris Jewett said. They were relentless with their pressure D and fantastic transition O and led 6-1 after one period. The Dragons held onto the lead until about four minutes to play, Jewett said.
“I was extremely impressed and proud of my U13 Black team,” Jewett said. “They showed tremendous resolve to stay the course and execute their game plan. In the end, they won the U13 championship by playing great team lacrosse. They ended the 2015 LA Box season undefeated and Champions for the second straight year!”
Trident Blue knocked off Trident Orange to win the U11 division.
